Default WoW or Lineage II?

I’ve been playing the faction preview event and I don’t think I am going to want to play GW anymore. The current version of GW isn’t great and Factions doesn’t look like it’s going to be great either. I wanted to know from people who have played WoW and Lineage II, which one they think is worth paying for. I have a friend who says he was a long time Lineage II player and said it was great. But, I also hear nothing but good feedback on WoW except that you level up to fast. Can someone tell me which game is better for a specific reason(s)?

Before you say GW is boring, you have to try:

- Solo
- Hard missions
- HA
- GvG

It’s not going to be completely new. Same engine… just different looks, spells, new maps and only two more characters.

I'd say WoW, since Lineage two is just plain terrible. There rewards for leveling around spread out equally so you find yourself doing alot of grinding for nothing. If you're willing to try something else I'd say dark ages of camelot or anarchy online. Both of them were alot of fun when I played them.

WoW as for Lineage 2, you will be grinding, in Wow, the quest and the grind make it seems like you been pressure at all. Not only that, when you die in WoW, you are not penalize for Experience Losts, however for Lineage 2, you are and it becomes a bitch to grind that experience back.

Lineage 2 - Hard Core - Graphic
WoW - Easiness - Gameplay

So if I liked to be challenged more Lineage is better for me?

Also, which game has more customization, and is Lineage II a big game?

I've played all 3.

WoW is great fun for the quests and whatnot once you get past the goofy graphics. I had 2 level 60 chars, doesen't take too long to play through and is pretty fun till you get to level 60 - then it gets very dull unless you enjoy running the same instances. PvP is fun for a bit but gets old quick.

Lineage II is just a grindfest. I can't see how people think this is some great PvP game when classes are so rigid your virtually identical to anyone the same class. No WSAD control, just your numbers and levels vs. someone elses. It's pretty fun but overrated. You can tell the developers of the game focused alot on the armor graphics, they are pretty awesome, but when you look at the actual gameplay it's pretty bad. Oh yea, and if someone higher level has a powertrip, he can just kill you with a chance of you dropping your armor/items. I hate the PK system, I'll duel people but not the backstabbing BS - especailly in a level based game where you lose exp and items.

Guild Wars I find has the most enjoyable fighting system. Much better than L2 and WoW. GW PvE content is great the first or second time through but really leaves more - im hoping the stuff in Factions will help out with this.

Once you get past the idea that levels are pretty much meaningless and you start creating other goals to fulfill instead of getting the next level the replayability kicks up a little more, but eventually you'll do it all reguardless.

Right now im pretty bored of GW, but luckily Factions is just around the corner so that will be nice.

BTW if you want to waste a year to build a good char, play FFXI. I remeber having to drag 15 people around the desert for 10 hours just to learn Savage Blade on my Paladin. I did enjoy FFXI though, but you really need alot of free time to enjoy it.

For challenge in PvE I recommend FFXI, for PvP - Guild Wars.
Customization? Probably WoW.

Pretty much what he said, plus remember monthly frees, as well as long exp grind.

Eden2k5 has it.

Anyways, I dont think GW is a game you can play all the time (unless your doing high level GvG). The no-subs feature allows you to come back to it whevenr you want with no penelties, and have a look at how things are going. Then you can get Faction if it does appeal to you.

Well I might be buying WoW soon too... GW is getting boring for me. The only thing that is holding me back from getting it is the monthly fees tho =/ I dont have very much money... dont have a job. 350$ for a game for a year, I calculated it out, (in Canadian dollars,) is a little expensive. The game is fun, I must admit; I play it at my friends house once in a while. I do like that the level cap is 40 lvls higher than GW though... I got a character from level 1 to 20 while I was bored in about 8 hours one night... doing missions, not powerleveling. My friends has been working on a character on WoW for about 70 hours and he is only level 30. My friend also played GW before he got WoW, he likes WoW alot better. So right now its most likely that I wont get factions and will probably buy WoW.

Remember that $350 a year is for the same content. If you want new stuff you will have to add that to your yearly price.

Do NOT play L2, it's one of the worst MMO experiences out there. Like others have said, it's a level-grind and I found the community to be horrible, very unfriendly and downright hostile in some areas. GW has been nothing but awesome, but in terms of the graphics, the content, the fun, and the people!
